Originally employed by BFBS in Germany as a general dogs body and soon realised there had to be more to life so ran off to Royal Navy in 1982 - post Falklands, and spent the next 8 years in various parts of the world.
Met and married a Welsh girl so the life on the high seas came to an end.
After leaving HM Forces I vowed never to work for the Government again, never to wear a uniform again and never to work shifts again, so I joined the Police!!
I started off as a run of the mill 'Bobby' but soon ran the Football Intelligence office, and also involved in Counter-Terrorism work.
I was lucky enough to be 1 of 25 officers seconded to UKBF and spent 4 years there, setting up their Enforcement processes and improving their skill sets. I improved their detection rate from 13% to 83%.
I returned to 'Force' and quickly became disillusioned with the way the Police was heading and being run, so left after a total of 14 years.
I then joined Thornbury Collections as a BDM. Since 2007 I have seen every aspect of the business improve and grow. In July 2012 I completed a MBO of Thornbury.
